Who is it for?
This Psychology for Business course is for anyone who wants to further their knowledge of themselves and others to gain more tools and resources to manage and lead powerfully at work. You must have prior experience of TA, such as by attending our Basic Psychology for Business – Part 1.
Description
Having a better understanding of our own and other people’s psychology can help us in the workplace as well as other areas of our life. This course is for those who have attended our introduction to Basic Business Psychology course and would like to learn more. On this course we will be build on your previous learning by going into more depth with some of the core Transactional Analysis concepts, and by introducing some new concepts.
Course content

Functional Ego States
A model for understanding the different ways in which we behave. Looking at how you behave invites particular reactions from other people, and identifying what changes you can make to invite more positive relationships from colleagues and staff.

Discounting
We all filter out aspects of reality that does not fit the biases we have developed. Learn how this can cause inefficiency at work.

Time Structuring
Structuring our time with other people happens in a number of ways. Understanding these ways can help in understanding what motivates people’s social behaviour, and recognising an effective work life balance.

Psychological Games
Have you ever noticed recurring patterns of behaviour that create stress at work? We will look at how you can understand them and break the pattern to get more productive results.

Psychological Rackets
Learn how learnt feelings and behaviours from our past impact how we manage our lives and work. Look at how these can be changed to achieve more effective outcomes.

Drivers
Learn to recognise five fundamental personality types in yourself and others; how they conflict with each other at work; and how to get the best from people with each style.
